Donnie's Memorial Service was held at the Northside Church of Christ in Crafton, Texas on June 19, 2010. Just up the road from his house, the church was a simple building converted into a country church. The minister, Edwin Carlisle, was a friend and neighbor of Donnie, and was honored to lead the service. The Patriot Guard Riders lent their support, guarding the outside of the church during the ceremony. They set up United States flags, honoring the service of this fallen soldier. After the service, helium balloons were released into the air. It was if we were sending our love for Donnie into the heavens.
